LENS REVIEW: MI (Magic Image) Wine Red

Hi all,

Feels like I haven't been here for a while...though it's only been about a week :S.

Anyways, I have another circle lens review for you all. These lenses were sponsored by Kiwiberry1. Awesome seller btw. She sent me these beauties not too long ago, when the Wine Reds first came out and were selling like hot cakes! She still has them on her site if you're interested, they cost 20$ usd. You can't go wrong with that, considering these lenses aren't easy to find and she still offers them for practically a steal of a price. She has this series in eight different colours...EIGHT! Not your basic four or six. EIGHT! Eight is my favourite number too...EeeiiiiiGHT! ok enough...

The eight colours (excl. Wine red) are:
Grey
Peach
Blue
Violet
Green
Brown
Aqua
Red

If you're lazy at times like me and want direct access to purchase these lenses...click here.

She also has many other series in the MI (magic image) brand which are:
Dizon eye, Butterfly, Super Angel, E-type series (kind reminds me of geo olive series), and 3-tone M-type series (pretty aquas and greens).

Ok..ok..onto the review..

MI (Magic Image) Wine Red Review:

Colour:
★★★
I have to say I really like the colour of these lenses. They really are a wine red colour. The red falls more on the pink-maroon side rather than the red-orange side. This is the reason I wanted these lenses, they weren't your average typical tomato-red lens which I see on cosplayers and for halloween. I would say the colour of this lens is subtle enough to wear as an everyday lens, because it still adds that hint of change. Oh..and my bf likes them too. lol.

Enlargement:
★★These lenses don't really enlarge for me. Honestly I believe this is more of a lens for colour change rather than drastically changing the size of your iris which I kind of like, because enlargement adds to the effect of unreal or surreal. These are a 14.0 mm lens but appear smaller than my nudy grays (also 14.00 mm).

Comfort:

I haven't worn these lenses long enough to determine how comfortable they are. But for the hour or two that I had them in I was fine. They did not irritate my eyes whatsoever and they don't have much of a sliding issue like my geos, which I believe is a better fit.

Naturalness:
★1/2
I think they are fairly natural for a red lens believe it or not. The subtlety and size of the lens plays a role in the overall effect. If these lenses were any bigger, they would appear less natural. The colour change is definitely there but it's not a punch in the face, or so to speak. Tis more like.."what's different about you?" The red isn't bright enough to turn heads, it's more of a deep red with a hint of magenta, which I really like. It's unique.

Price:

Again, I'm not going to complain about Kiwiberry1's prices...as I firmly believe they are that great. The prices are even greater with her incentives and promotions. Based on my experience as a buyer for so many years...I plan to purchase lots of my lenses from her. I just hope she stays around long enough to feed the lens addiction that is in me! muahahaha!

Fun time..and what you've been waiting for....the photos!

LENS REVIEW: Geo Nudy Gray (CH-625)

Hi everyone,

This is a circle lens review for Geo Nudy Gray (CH-625). I'm sure you already know what it looks like...but I thought I'd share anyways. ha.
If you don't know already...I really like the nudy series. I know some are impartial to it but I personally think it's pretty and almost jewel like. Others will find the pattern lizard like but I find it more sparkly. If you like gray lenses...read on.

GEO NUDY GRAY (CH-625)
Photo taken indoors, no flash, morning lighting.
Geo Nudy Gray Review:

Colour
:
★★★☆☆

In person, on my eyes they are more of a dark gray, slate like colour. They are pretty subtle yet noticeable and make my eyes appear super glossy. In flash photos they are much lighter and are definitely on the silver-gray side.

Enlargement
:
★★★☆☆

The enlargement is there, but not big enough to make you look like an alien. I get a small halo with these, which I love.

Comfort
:
★★★☆☆
These are pretty comfy. I didn't have many issues with these and can wear it for more than six hours. I still find my eos lenses more comfortable. But these are still good.

Naturalness
:
★★★☆☆
These are natural enough to pass off as a daily lens. I know others will disagree as they find the pattern too noticeable. But in terms of the color, I could still wear these lenses without any awkward stares. I wouldn't wear them as a daily lens as I have better colours...like brown. lol. But if I wanted to change it up...this would definitely be a consideration.

Price:
★★★☆☆
I can't remember what I paid for these but I know I wasn't ripped off. These days you can get them between 15$-20$ up, depending on your seller. Most geo lenses will fall in that price range. It's fairly good for a yearly lens.

Overall, I'd have to say like my Nudy Golden Blues, I like these lenses...Would I buy these again in the future? Probably not. Why? Because I have other lenses I like more. However, I don't regret buying these. I just prefer warmer coloured lenses than cool ones, such as these.

LENS REVIEW: G&G / Dueba King Pink Circle lens

Hi everyone,

Back for another circle lens review. Yay :)

These lenses were sponsored by Kiwiberry1
.
They were sent for sharing and review purposes only. I am not being paid for this review.
This is 100% honest and personal opinion.

These lenses are sold on her site for 20$ usd. Also, if you are a first time buyer you get 15% off. And, if you do a review on your product / experience you get additional discounts toward future purchases. In my opinion, that's a steal. Kiwi holds great sales and even greater promotions. I just purchased 7 pairs of lenses last week because of her. Yesss! Right now she has a buy 3 get the 4th free promo...so check her site out! I promise you won't be disappointed. I have always been a happy customer with her site and services.

G&G / Dueba King Pink
Photo taken indoors with natural lighting - No Flash.

G&G / Dueba King Pink Review:

Colour: ★★★☆☆
These lenses are a baby pastel like pink. I find the pink very soft and not too in your face. However, the black limbal ring is what makes it pop. It is verrry thick. These lenses produce and overall pretty effect. It is very girly and anime like. I like this lens alot more than my Geo angel Greens <-- click to go to the review.

Enlargement
:
★★★★☆
These are really big! If you have fairly big irises and fairly big eyes to begin with, you will get a great enlargement with these. These are definately doe-eyed achievers. The very thick black limbal ring plays the most part in enlargement factor. WOW!

Comfort
:
★★★☆☆
I haven't had any discomfort with these lenses yet. But I haven't worn them for more than 6 hours. I can say that the comfort is pretty good. It is much better than my geo lenses.

Naturalness
:
★☆☆☆☆
These lenses are detectable. The pattern is too bold and sharp to say these can pull off as natural. Maybe from 20 feet away you'll get some double takers wondering how sparkly your eyes are, or how big they are. But within a few feet you'll get people who will look more than twice. These lenses are great for parties, nightlife, cosplay, and maybe halloween. I would go for the cat eyes for halloween...or red eyes. hehe.

Price:
★★★★☆
Great price! For 20$ usd I wouldn't complain. Most other sites will sell them above 25$ (excl. s/h).Plus you get discounts... :)Overall, I think the King Pinks are a great lens. If you are looking for that striking yet pretty effect. These are for you. In my opinion, they are a great, girly, edgy, funky, and cute kind of lens. If you find these too striking, Kiwiberry1 has a whole collection of pink lenses to suit your liking. They come in different subtleties, shades, and sizes. You can find her pink collection here.

FOTD: My First Tutorial.

Yes that is correct. I coughed up the courage to make my own makeup tutorial even though I lack any sort of real skill in this category. I did it because it sounded like fun and I love colours. I get inspiration from other bloggers posting their own tutorials. So yes, thank all of you for the push :) Please keep them coming and feel free to throw in your own input on what I have shared with you as well :)

I will try to keep this ball rolling and hopefully, with every tutorial that I post I progress with as well. hehe...anyways...ENJOY! :)

Shot indoors with sunlight - No Flash * Click for full view. *

My inspiration for this tutorial was ...well...none. I coloured an old college sketch of mine in photoshop. I threw a bunch of colours I thought would look neat together and tried to take it on myself. Don't be so harsh on me please.
For those who don't know ... I have hooded double eyelids. This means when I look down or close my eyes you are able to see my double eyelids. However, when I open my eyes all the way or look up at something / someone my eyelids disappear and it looks like I have monolids. This is one of the main reasons I don't play around with makeup, because in the end it doesn't really show. lol. However, through blogging and expirimenting...hopefully I'll find my way around it or accentuate it.

Onto the tutorial :)

This is my sketch I based my appearance on.

Sephora Makeup Palette.

Hi Guys,

I just wanted to share with you my makeup palette.
Reason being? Well...I don't usually wear lots of makeup, especially really colorful makeup. So I bought this palette based on the fact that it was inexpensive and had lots of vibrant colours to experiment with. I purchased it from Sephora for about 35$ plus a 15% discount.

This palette comes with 36 eyeshadows, 12 lipgloss / lipstick colours, 3 blushes, and 1 bronzer. I'd say it isn't so bad - back then. But now I see lots of makeup palettes that give you more bang for your buck.

Photo of the casing open and closed.

I plan on doing most of my makeup FOTD and/or tutorials using this palette. Tis also a reason why I'm posting about this :) For now though, I'm just showing you my eyeshadows, which was the main reason I purchased this palette.

I am hoping to get to my first real FOTD later on today.
Will keep you all posted.

Thanks!
Sara.
